Time Can't Be An Excuse - This Is Why!
Health excuses really have no legs to stand on. They're not real, this is why!
The honeymoon phase is wearing off. Like any new beginning, the excitement only lasts so long before the hard outweighs the desire, and old patterns start creeping into the tiny cracks of your 'plan.'
If you're like most people, you don't even know you're taking on water. It's a slow process. When you do notice you're already knee-deep in the time sucks of life, there feels like there is no way you can recover.
And maybe you can't stop it. Or maybe you shouldn't.
If the boat is sinking, perhaps it's time to let it go because the ship you're trying to patch will never float.
I don't mean this to be somber, but if you're fighting the plan every day, that plan isn't for you. Health should not be a fight. It can't be if you expect it to work long-term.
Arguably, even identifying health as a battle makes it the enemy. And if it's the enemy, it will never be the solution?
It can't be a fight because health is supposed to be your help, not your enemy.
That might mean letting the old ship you thought was health sink so you can jump aboard a new one.
A new ship that redefines health, letting go of the many things you once called stumbling blocks. Stumbling blocks like time, finances, exhaustion, or a lack of 'seeing' results.
What if you could view these stumbling blocks in a new way? To see them in a way that was for you instead of against you?
What if you could expand what you've perceived as the problem and help it become part of your solution?
To expand your view of health away from what isn't to what is.
Can you tell I'm in the mood to tear down the towers of excuses you've built?
Let's talk about time—one of the most recognized 'hurdles' we face.
No one ever has enough time. Or do you?
Time is an interesting concept. In one breath, we all have the same 24 hours a day. Yet, in another breath, how fast time moves is relative to how you fill it.
That means you can't blame time. It's not how much time you spend but how you use that time that allows time to be an advantage or disadvantage.
Because we all have time, no matter how much we feel like we don't.
The change happens when you start to recognize the power of how time moves. Like energy, it is a creation or generation.
Take a look at your own life. There are activities you do that expand time. They may help you live time more fully or even generate energy, allowing you to get done in more time so you have more time to live.
Like other activities, drain time. They leave you exhausted, overwhelmed, and fighting life.
The problem isn't time. The problem is how you fill your time, which changes how you show up in life.
Of course, not all things are in your control. You'll encounter something unexpected daily - life is full of the unexpected. But what you do with it is based on a perspective.
When it comes to health, stop thinking of health action as "taking time" and start thinking of it as "expanding time."
When it comes to health, stop thinking of health action as "taking time" and start thinking of it as "expanding time."
Health actions should power and fuel you to generate energy to get out and live. Yes, it will take time, but it also supplies you with time.
Time isn't the problem. The problem is what you choose to fill your time with.
Do you see the difference?
You might think you don't have time to care for your health, but you don't have time not to. Health action is what helps you generate more time.
Stop letting time stop you and start seeing the value of time and the value of healthy action, which can expand time (and your life).
If you're fighting time, it's time to let the ship sink. There's a better one waiting for you!
As we start week two, what other challenges and hurdles stop you? Let's talk about them. Sometimes, all you need is a shift in perspective.
Hit me with your biggest stumbling blocks, and I'll break them down this week!
Remember: You were made in health for health.
Go out and live it!
Here's to week two! You're going to crush it!

After working “The Plan” for a little bit now, I’ve made some slight modifications bc it is meant to support me and how I want to live my life. For example positive self talk has changed to daily gratitudes or faith affirmations/mantras because these practices are energy filling for me. Think of how that action step that’s hard, is draining you, to use Alexa’s verbiage, and what could you do to make it an energy fill for you.
I really like what you say about if you are fighting the plan everyday, that plan isnt working. This is how I feel what moving forward with several things in my life. The story of needing more grit and persistence come up but I think I know the difference between a lack of grit and just fighting the plan... My challenge right now is what to do instead of the plan. When you let go of an idea or a plan it leaves a hole and I don't have a list of things waiting to fill that hole. While I understand the most of the time the space created is healing and potential for the next iteration but I guess the space is uncomfortable when the rest of life around you is moving forward.
