The *Best* Sugar Cookie Matcha Recipe
This recipe is my morning winter staple. It just hits different on a cold winter day!
I know when you see posts that say “the best,” you have to consider, but is it?
In full disclosure, this is my opinion. It’s fair to have your own. But in my opinion, this is one of the ways I really enjoy matcha. And I don’t enjoy just any matcha. I rarely ever order it from a coffee shop. Not because the potential isn’t there, but because I like a specific brand made in a specific way.
Which is why I have to admit, this is truly the best I’ve had, and not just because of the sugar cookie spin, but it all starts with the brand of matcha.
The brand of matcha is the secret weapon, the game-changer to the flavor profile. I’ve tried a lot of different matcha brands, and I have to say, I’ve narrowed in on Pique because it knocks off a couple of critical categories for me:
Good flavor.
Even better ingredient profile/grade.
Pique hits it out of the park on both of these.
Now, you know I’m not one to push many brands, so when I start speaking of one, you have to know I really like it and I think you will too.
I wanted to share this recipe after sharing my winter hydration staples last week because the electrolytes and matcha work together to create a dynamic duo (a.k.a. The Pique Radiant Skin Duo) that nourishes your skin and body from the inside out.
Winter Wellness Essentials:
We’ve spent a lot of time lately talking about thriving in the winter. It’s a subject near and dear to my heart.
Truthfully, I’ve spent far too many winters dreading life and ultimately falling sick because I didn’t understand there were seasonal shifts that could help me thrive, even during the coldest, darkest months of the year.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a summer girl. But I’ve learned to value winter for the growth and transformation it allows. Winter is just as valuable as summer, and distinguishing its benefits has made a huge difference in how I approach the season. Rather than resisting what I cannot change, I focus on supporting my body, which changes everything.
Now, I’m not expecting you to fall in love with winter, but I am encouraging you to value your body’s seasonal needs, which can single-handedly change how you view and live it. It always comes back to how you support your body.
A few key winter wellness practices I emphasize include:
Staying hydrated (using electrolytes, especially in the winter months)
Daily movement and sunlight exposure
Many of our “symptoms” that surface during the winter months, and even conditions like seasonal affective disorder or seasonal illnesses, could be significantly reduced if we place greater emphasis on supporting the body. And it doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, it shouldn’t.
Supporting the body happens in the tiny shifts you make to your daily routine, like drinking warm drinks instead of cold, getting a bit of extra sleep, exposing your skin to the cold air, while also balancing that with warming practices.
Mostly, it’s paying attention to the signals your body is sending and taking steps to support it.
Warm beverages are key!
One shift I make every winter is drinking most of my beverages warm or lukewarm, including my electrolytes. Warm drinks help heat the core, which supports energy, immune function, mental health, hormonal balance, and more. They also make hydration more enjoyable and soothing for winter skin.
In my opinion, there’s nothing better than a warm, creamy, nutrient-rich beverage to start the day.
One of my favorites, of course, is the Sugar Cookie Matcha, made with Pique Matcha.
This morning ritual is not only delicious and warming but also supports cellular nourishment. Especially when paired with an afternoon serving of B·T Fountain electrolytes. It’s my winter “inside-out” skin and hydration duo.
It’s the dynamic duo: morning matcha, afternoon electrolyte.
Why drink matcha?
Matcha offers numerous health benefits. It’s full of antioxidants, specifically catechins, which can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. These antioxidants are linked to reduced inflammation, support cardiovascular health, and have anticancer properties.
Matcha also contains caffeine, but in combination with L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm and alert focus. This combination provides a steady, sustained energy boost without the jitters or crash often associated with other forms of caffeine.
However, there are some downfalls to matcha, too. Not all matcha is created equal. The grade of matcha determines its flavor, texture, nutrient density, and ultimately the experience you get from drinking it.
Drinking lower-grade matcha as a daily ritual can mean you’re not getting the full benefits.
That’s why I personally choose Pique Matcha because it delivers the quality, purity, and consistency I want in a daily wellness ritual, including:
Ceremonial-grade quality to maximize nutrients.
Purity and clean sourcing.
Convenience: each packet is perfectly measured and easy to whisk.
Taste I enjoy: smooth and naturally sweet. It’s not overly bitter like some matcha that requires a lot of sugar to mask.
The Pique Radiant Skin Duo (matcha + electrolytes) complements this perfectly. While the matcha nourishes from the inside, the B·T Fountain beauty electrolyte works at a cellular level to hydrate, support ceramide production, reduce redness, and strengthen the skin barrier. Together, they provide an inside-out approach to glowing, resilient winter skin.
It’s by far my favorite matcha on the market. My girls also have a knack for matcha, and they all agree.
