You brain is going to try to talk you out of this.
Don't let it!
Your mind is lying to you.
Right now, as you read this, it’s probably already started. The little voice that sounds so reasonable, so logical, and so completely convincing.
“I’ll start next week when things calm down.”
“I’m not really a walker.”
“All summer is a lot. I’ll probably quit anyway.”
“I don’t have time.”
“Everyone else will be further along than me.”
Sound familiar? Yeah. We know that voice. And truthfully, we all have it, no matter how experienced you are.
Your mind will always find a reason to convince you to do or not to do something. If you don’t retrain it, those reasons will most likely come from the need for comfort and familiarity. It doesn’t do this to stop you. It’s just scared of change.
It might even be scared of the version of you that shows up consistently.
Because that version of you is dangerous in the best way.
So what if you just overrode it? Not with willpower. Not with a motivational speech you give yourself in the mirror. Just with one decision. One small, quiet act of showing up anyway.
What if you committed to the walking club and created a new story?
And maybe you just need to start with that decision tomorrow. To lace up your shoes and go outside for some steps.
You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to decide the lie doesn’t get to win today.
The Walking Club starts tomorrow (June 1st). Are you joining?
P.S. Unsure what The Walking Club is all about? Join for a week for free and test out the club on us! Try it out for free here!
