Weight Loss: A New Conversation That’s Long Overdue
The Weekly Fill | The weight loss conversations you've been looking for (and the one I've been putting off for years)!
I’ve spent much of my career avoiding two of the biggest subjects in nutrition: weight loss and dieting.
This might seem ironic since I entered the nutrition field determined to help people lose weight without sacrificing their lives. At 18, with my still-developing frontal lobe, I believed there had to be a better way.
I’ve spent nearly two decades researching diets and studying the human body without ever claiming my beliefs about what I think it takes to lose weight, BUT that is changing — and yes, I’m just as surprised as you might be.
But first, what hasn’t changed is my belief that:
Health doesn’t always equate to “skinny.”
“Skinny” isn’t the answer to health.
Your body isn’t the problem—it’s the solution.
Yet, at the same time, I think your body craves being at its optimal weight.
Like all things in life, body fat is beneficial and necessary, but too much or not enough can be harmful. The sweet spot is balance. Unfortunately, most people are not living at an optimal weight range.
I say that lightly because I know it can induce a lot of shame. I also think this highlights the health industry's biggest downfall, and it’s not bad diet advice. Their biggest downfall is the faulty and extremely harmful belief they’ve instilled in you.
The belief that your body is the problem — that you are bad.
But I need you to know that this could not be further from the truth, and more than the advice, the belief surrounding weight is much of the reason people can’t change.
Why We Struggle with Weight
The real issue isn’t you or your body. It’s the system that stems from the belief that you’re broken, that your worth is tied to the number on a scale, or that you need to be fixed.
But what if weight loss wasn’t about shame or denial? What if it was about expansion—filling yourself up so your body has the energy to do what it does best? To heal and restore itself.
I believe your body has an optimal weight and craves to live at its optimal weight for you. It’s not about perfection but balance—a balance that honors your unique design.
Introducing: A New System for Weight Loss
For the first time ever, I’m teaching a class specifically on weight loss. Not the same tired methods or rules that haven’t worked. This is a new system—a better system—where weight loss becomes an outcome of living well.
The class will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, at 7:00 pm CST.
These classes are all part of my vision to make 2025 the Year of WELL-ness, following the health snowball framework outlined in the 2025 Nourished Planner.
If you want to reach your optimal weight while embracing balance and wellness, this class is for you.

This isn’t about choosing between body love and the desire for change. It’s about holding both at once:
Loving yourself where you are.
Desiring growth and change.
If you’re ready to change your health story—without shame, denial, or extremes—I hope to see you inside the class. Live attendees will also benefit from a community Q&A and live discussion.
Let’s make this the start of something different.
In the meantime, leave a comment with the craziest thing you’ve ever heard about weight loss! Trust me, I know there are even wilder ideas than I’ve heard!
P.S. A replay will be available if you can’t make the live session. But trust me, you’ll want to join live for the full experience. Upgrade your subscription here.
