Diet advice has gotten out of hand, and it’s exhausting.

It feels like there’s always a new diet trend, a new health guru, a new rulebook. And when you think you’ve found something solid, another approach comes along that completely contradicts it.

It’s overwhelming.
It’s confusing.
It’s frustrating.

And worst of all, it’s endless.

But the truth is, this confusion isn’t new. It’s just the latest cycle in a very long line of diet trends. Whether it’s low-fat, low-carb, paleo, vegan, or any combination of diet, the specific rules might change, but they’re all similar.

When we examine diets, even those that appear contradictory, most come with well-rounded research. You could come up with a valid argument for nearly every diet under the sun. But that’s not the point. The point is, focusing on the system or diet is the wrong framework.

Spending too much time focusing on which diet or system is best is, in my opinion, a waste of energy. It’s a trap, even if it is a convincing, well-marketed trap.

Unfortunately, most people spend too much time and energy here, which leads to them getting stuck.

It’s not necessarily your fault that you stall out here. The health industry trained us to think this way. To believe that if we could just find the right system — the right macros, the right habits, the right routine — then we’d finally “get it right.”

However, this entire mindset overlooks the key point.

Because it’s not the diet itself that creates health.
It’s not even the specific method, workout, or routine.

Health isn’t created by following a framework. It’s created by your body’s response to what you do.

This is a massive shift.

Let me give you an example. Two people can follow the same diet and have completely different experiences. One might feel energized, sleep better, and see steady progress. The other might feel bloated, irritable, and burned out within a week.

Same plan. Different response.

So why do we keep acting like there’s one “right way”?

Because we’re taught to focus on the how:

  • How should I eat?

  • How should I workout?

  • How should I lose weight?

  • How should I build habits?

  • How should I fix my morning routine?

And most of that “how” is just mimicking what someone else did — someone with a different body, different background, different life.

But here’s the truth: someone else’s way will never work for you because it leaves out the most important variable — you and the way your body responds.

Your body is the one that determines whether something is working. Not the app, not the influencer, not the article. Your response is what creates your outcomes.

Trying to force your body into a system that doesn’t fit is like wearing shoes that don’t fit and blaming your feet when they hurt.

You can’t hate yourself into health.
You can’t micromanage your body into submission.
You can’t ignore your body’s signals and expect sustainable results.

So instead of obsessing over frameworks, rules, and “shoulds,” what if you focused on the only thing you actually have control over — your choices?

What if you started tuning into how your body responds and used that as your guide?

That’s where real change happens.

And no, this doesn’t mean ignoring all health advice. It means learning how to use it, not blindly following, but testing, adapting, and building your own way of doing things.

Your way is a personal experiment. It’s about trying what resonates, listening to your body, and seeing what works.

It’s not about copying. It’s about curiosity.

And here’s the kicker:

It doesn’t even start with food.

That’s the biggest mistake most people make. They dive straight into changing what they eat, without the capacity to make those changes sustainable.

When you build capacity first — emotionally, mentally, physically — it changes how you approach food, movement, and habits. You stop trying to force change, and you start collaborating with your body to create it.

Without the capacity, you’ll always be tempted to jump into a new system or framework. I want to remind you that it will never work.
